A door to door salesman came to my 82 year old Grandmother’s home and made her sign a 15 year contract for a new furnace that was to cost 20 times over its actual value. The worst part is that my Grandma’s furnace was only a year old when they took it out. We got in touch with the folks at Alto Consulting and within weeks the contract was cancelled and my Grandmother received a settlement from the company for the aggravation our family had been put through.
One day I came home from a month long work trip to find my basement riddled with water and air filters. My wife, who does not speak English well, told me that a guy had came to the door and told her that the government had made it mandatory for people to install this equipment. One look at the contract and I was mortified. We were now on the hook for Forty seven thousand dollars. I got in contact with Alto consulting and thank god they took on our case. Three months later, the contracts were cancelled and the equipment was removed.
When my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer three years ago, we decided to get a second mortgage on her home in order to pay for a specialist in the US. We were informed by the bank that there were over thirty thousand dollars worth of liens on her property due to several pieces of equipment that had been installed in her home by door to door sales people. Alto consulting not only managed to get the liens removed but they also had the contracts cancelled and saw us out of this terrible ordeal.
